My practice is geared toward the modern client—those struggling with identity, trying to find their place in the world, and feeling as though no one truly understands who they are. Some people may know who they are but still feel rejected for being themselves. Whether the struggle involves politics, religion, sexuality, race, or another part of your identity, these issues can feel more prominent than ever in today's society. I am here to support you in your journey toward finding peace with your identity as a person, no matter how society may push against who you are or who you wish to be. My approach is holistic in nature. I explore the mental, physical, and spiritual dynamics of your life and how they work together—like the cogs in a machine—to influence your overall well-being. Using a Gestalt approach, I may incorporate role-playing, body movement, and exaggeration to bring attention to your gestures, responses, and the ways you confront and understand who you are. Struggling with low self-esteem or confidence? I have been there. (Try being a Brony in a compulsively masculine world.) Whatever labels or challenges you are trying to overcome, I believe there is value in working with a therapist who has faced similar ridicule, explored these experiences, and used both personal insight and professional knowledge to become your effective, personal, nerdy counselor.
